Tonight's TV

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition tonight is a house they did at Saint Meinrad, town of our favorite confreres .... check it out. I'll post later (if I can get it) a picture of me helping, complete with secret service curlique earpiece -- I felt all important! (My monks and seminarians will be featured with the moving-in of furniture!)

I have to say, about 60 of us seminarians and a few monks (those with permission) were at the Unstable tonight watching it on the Big Screen.

Very disappointing. I mean, don't get me wrong. It was a great story. But none of the footage they shot in the monastery was used. None. Only one or two seconds worth of long shots of the Archabbey church were used as part of a montage.

Oh, and a microscopic mention in the credits "Special thanks to Saint Meinrad Archabbey and Seminary."

A few seminarians were on camera for a few seconds, moving furniture and things back into the house.

It's not that it wasn't a good episode, but it was like the producers were pretending there wasn't a huge Catholic monastery right there the whole time.

Ford motor company got LOTS of mention, though. And so did Kerstein builders.

It's too bad that St. Meinrad Abbey didn't get more of a mention...but I do appreciate this show; it's the only "reality" show I watch or would let kids watch if I had them.
