Prayers, please ....
.... I'm getting observed by my principal tomorrow .... first period .... we have block scheduling, which means 90-minute classes, which is a long time to have the principal sitting in there .... and since I was out sick on Friday, I didn't get the chance to give the kids a heads-up .... and it's only the third time I've seen these kids .... and if they're too intimidated by the principal to speak up then I'm royally screwed .... so, please....?

of course my friend.

I'm sorry I didn't see this till now, but I have faith you did just fine.
Prayers that all went well!
Actually, for me, although others didn't always appreciate it, I preferred principals who were often in and out of the classrooms and around and about because if things weren't perfect when they did formal observations they had a larger context and bigger picture in which to place the observed lessons.
I find observations on the college-level far more stressful than I did on the elementary level. I also find the college-level evaluation process more stressful because often you are being observed and evaluated by people who, while they have teaching experience, often don't have teacher training whereas 9 out of 10 times in Catholic schools your principal is someone with lots of prior teaching experience and education education.
It's not a magic formula, but it helps!
Sorry, I kind of digressed here...
Again, hope all went well, Steph. Let us know.
Hope it went well!
