Weekend Wonderings (belated)
A little late this week, but still ..... how 'bout I make it slightly less thought-intensive to make up for it?
Feelin' kinda sloggy, feelin' kinda blah lately, which leads me to ask the question:
What Brings You Comfort?
Comfort foods, clothes, places, people, movies, music, etc.
Can you tell I'm looking for ideas? :-)
Thanks!

You ask, "What Brings You Comfort?

Hmmm, truthfully, it depends on the moment. There's something in each of those categories that can be comforting depending on where I am.
One thing not on the list you noted -- petting my dog. That can be very comforting as can closing the door, curling up under the comforter with a cup of hot chocolate next to me, and surfing the channels.
Another comforting thought can be reflecting on how blessed I am truly. Sometimes when I am "blah" it's easy to overlook that, but when I realize it, it can be a true "pick me up."
Peace to you, Steph!

I agree about the dogs, but I would also say a reliable friend. Over the years many people have filled that role. This week it was my husband.
On the clothing front, I have a cozy pair of flannel pajama pants with a snowman pattern that I really look forward to putting on at the end of the day!
Sleeping, curled up under my feather blanket, with my Nina-Beaner, Super Beagle curled up against my legs.
Yoga. Payday. Writing. Reading. A job well done. Positive feedback from my boss.
"Caving up" back home for a while. Getting organized. Cleaning (but not too often! LOL).
Visiting my Groovy Sisters (next weekend!!!)
Losing myself in an online game on Yahoo or MSN games.
Eating a bowl of cereal. Or pretty much anything bready/starchy/pasta-related. Oh, and chocolate, of course.
Taking off and doing something out of the ordinary. All by myself or with a friend. Being spontaneous.
Watching "Almost Famous."
Sushi. Really. It makes me feel calm - probably because it's not fried or treated like all the other garbage we put into our bodies.
A great Belgian beer, especially Trappist Ales. :)
Fireplaces.
Long conversations with good friends.
Quiet rooms. Books.
Also music that I listened to when I was a kid. Stuff my mom listened to. Anything that was on the radio when I was a toddler. As you can tell by what I listen to now - mostly same old stuff!
'Chicago III,' anyone?
