Sadly it isn't just the internet. It's so pervasive it's everywhere that if you want to be beautiful, you have to be a skeleton in skin. Turn on the TV, there's a story about how some star had gastric bypass surgery. Throw a dart at a newspaper, and it's some article about obesity. unless one lives on an island in the middle of nowhere with no internet or other media, it's impossible to escape. I can't imagine what kids are going through now growing up.

I agree wholeheartedly. But what I didn't realize (although it makes perfect sense, I guess I just never thought about it) was how helpful the internet is with this regard. Watching the little two-minute video on the site .... the kid was talking about all the helpful "how-to" hints out there (fake a shower to cover the puke sounds, etc.)
